Weekender

What is a Weekender?

If you're considering signing up — here's what to expect.

Why the Weekender Exists

Ministry in the local church is demanding work. We know how hard it can be to keep going.

We want to offer a few days where you can be built up in your understanding of the local church and refreshed alongside others who are labouring for the same gospel.

Who It’s For

Men serving as pastors, elders, or leaders in local churches.

What You'll Experience

Over four days, you’ll join church leaders in Singapore and throughout Asia for a focused time of learning and fellowship.

Through a series of talks and discussions, you'll explore what it means to be a gospel-shaped, biblically-ordered church. Topics covered include:

  • Expositional Preaching

  • Meaningful Church Membership

  • Corporate Worship

  • Biblical Eldership

  • Raising Up Elders

There are also breakout sessions on specific ministry areas (such as counselling, missions, and church planting) — topics vary each year.

More Than Just Sessions

One of the distinctive features of the Weekender is the chance to observe church life in practice, not just discuss it in theory.

You’ll sit in on an elders’ meeting, attend membership classes, worship with the congregation on Sunday, and observe a Members’ Meeting. The goal is to help you see how the things discussed in the sessions can actually take shape in a local church — even if it will look different in your own context.

Fellowship and Gospel Partnership

We hope you'll leave not just with new ideas, but with new friendships: brothers who understand the work you're doing and can continue to encourage you long after the weekend is over.

As Paul wrote to the Romans, he longed to visit them so that he might “be refreshed in [their] company” (Rom 15:32). That mutual refreshment — gospel workers strengthening one another — is what we're hoping for.
