Baptisms and Transfers – 21 December 2025

We baptised and welcomed Yeong Kae at our 21 December service. Members of GBC had voted to receive him and six others by transfer at the Members’ Meeting on 9 November

Before Yeong Kae shared his testimony, Pastor Eugene reminded us that Scripture commands the church to make disciples of all nations by baptising, and teaching all that Christ has commanded. Baptism is a sign of a spiritual change that has occurred in our lives through the grace of our Lord Jesus. He has made us alive through His death and resurrection, and we too, have been raised from the dead, though we were once spiritually dead in our sins. Baptism does not save us, but it is a sign that we have received life from Christ Himself through repentance and faith.

In baptism, we declare that we have been united to Christ by faith. We are joined with Him in His death and we are raised with Him to walk in newness of life. It is a sign that our sins have been forgiven because of what Christ has done and not because of our efforts.

Yeong Kae shared how he came to know Jesus and how God has led him to believe in His son. In doing so, he has life in His name. Yeong Kae shared how he grew up in a Christian family and was surrounded by Christians. It was later on in his teenage years that he understood sin and his need for a Saviour, as he read and heard God’s word:

Through the Word, God made it clear in Romans 3 that all have sinned and are justified by faith alone, and the gospel is for everyone. I resonated with different characters in the Bible, and I also held on to Mark 9:24 (I believe; help my unbelief) tightly, and I learnt that the Gospel is about God choosing to save me not because of my righteous works, but because of His mercy. I learnt too that submitting to God is not just about outward conformity in actions, but an inward transformation too.

Praying for Kae after his baptism!

At the end of the service, Pastor Eugene presented the new members — including those who joined us by transfer — to the congregation. Those who joined us by transfer were Emily and Ryan, Kimberly, Leo, Deshawn and Lucy. GBC members also warmly welcomed them and got to know them after the service.

(From L to R): Kimberly, Leo, Deshawn, Kae, Ryan and Emily. Lucy was not able to be present at the service.

Members, if you’d like a copy of the testimonies, write to the church office (info@gracebaptistchurch.sg). If you wish to stay connected with other members, you may request a copy of our Membership Directory (and all subsequent updates to it) via this form on our “For Members” page.

Our new members received a hearty welcome from the rest of the church1

If God has used these baptisms and transfers to prompt you to find out more about membership at GBC, you can also write to us at info@gracebaptistchurch.sg. Our next membership class will be on 31 January 2026.

If you are interested to find out more about this God that they speak about, feel free to reach out to our pastors, elders or your care group leaders! We'd love to chat and share more.
