Pua Mission Trip -- Sep 2022

After a 2.5-year break due to the pandemic, we are back to Pua to conduct the quarterly English Camp. We thank God for the team of 14 who headed to Kathy's Home from 23-26 September.

After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, a team of 14 from GBC (5 were first-timers) made their way to Kathy's Home, Pua in northern Thailand for our mission trip held from 23 to 26 September.

The team with Mak and Narola Sanglir. (L-R) Back row: Beh, Kit Wan, Susan, Megan, Julie, Kim Song, William and Mak; front row: Siew Kim, Lawrence, Caroline, Clara, Grace, Joanna, Karen and Narola.

English classes were held upon arrival on Friday evening and continued through Saturday and Sunday, with interludes of singing and games, including one session where the kids were taught to sing a couple of Bible verses from memory which they pulled off well!

We shared the Word during the Sunday worship, focusing on John 3:16 which we broke down into very simple terms so that the kids could understand clearly the true meaning of the gospel message, while the first-timers made their way to the mountain village in Maesanan to worship with the Hmong Christians at their church.

Despite the many difficulties and the pandemic, we thank God for the demonstration of His faithfulness and grace in preserving the Pua ministry over the years! We were humbled by how much we had to count on our radical dependence on Him for our daily provisions throughout the camp.

“For Christ’s love compels us… that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Cor 5:14-15, NIV)

The next English Camp at Kathy’s Home will be held from 9 to 13 December. Do contact Ngiam Siew Kim (97525589) or Beh Soo Hee (97886171) or the church office if you are interested to join us on this trip. Do sign up early as flight availability is getting tight.
