Thanksgiving for our Director and Deacons

At our 13 April 2025 service, we acknowledged the service of our director — Chong Chee Leong — and a number of deacons who are stepping off after their terms of service.

Director and Deacons stepping off

Chee Leong has been our director for the past three years, and his term of service ended on 31 March 2025. His role as Director will be taken over by Beh Soo Hee, whom we recently elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). We thank Chee Leong for his service to the church over the past three years.

A number of our deacons are also stepping off after a period of service. They are:

  • Anita Set (Deacon with the Welcome Ministry)

  • Melissa Fam (Deacon with Children’s Ministry)

  • Eugene Low (Deacon with Worship Ministry)

  • Nicholas Quek (Deacon with Young Adults)

We thank God for their years of faithful service and pray that God will refresh and strengthen them as they continue to serve the church as members.

New Deacons

We also welcome new deacons who are serving in various roles in the Worship Ministry:

  • Dikaios Pang, who will be focusing on Audio Visual

  • Darius Ng, who will be focusing on Worship Leaders

  • Aaron Lum, who will be focusing on Instrumentalists

They join the team of deacons, who are involved in the following ministries:

  • Tan Sze Gar (Welcome)

  • Lee Siang Teck (Welcome)

  • Kagen Lim (Young Adults)

  • Bryan Tan (Children)

  • Hewlett Chew (Member Care)

Deacons are important in our life together as a church. Pastor Eugene wrote previously that “the Bible portrays elders and deacons working together in a complementary way for gospel growth. They are not “checks and balances” on each other, but mutual partners in proclaiming and portraying Christ. Godly, faithful deacons give off the fragrance of Christ by caring for the church’s physical needs. This enables the elders to give themselves to pastoring God’s people with God’s Word. In caring for the church, deacons serve like Jesus.”

We thank God for the faithful service of different members in this body, and continue to pray that God will raise and use men and women in our midst to build up His church.
