Getting Ready for Church Camp
We’ve been hearing so much about Church Camp and we are now nearing the camp! We invited Mok Chuan-Hao who is this year’s Camp Commandant, to share more about the camp theme, what to expect and how we can prepare by praying.
We are less than a month away from GBC Church Camp 2025. It has been an incredible journey thus far. The committee first met in October 2024, and we are now communicating daily in order to settle each and every minutiae as we near Day 1. Yet, the team is certainly excited and quietly confident that with God’s grace, it would be a wonderful time of fellowship for the record number of campers!
Why this camp theme
Through God's generous favour, many opportunities have unfolded for us here at GBC to share the Christian message and engage in missionary work, both in Singapore and in other places. We recognize the immense responsibility we have in sharing the good news of the gospel. As we study God's teachings together, we pray that the Holy Spirit will use these truths to inspire us to recommit ourselves wholeheartedly to the cause of the gospel. Hence the choice of this year’s camp theme, “Go: A Community on Mission”.
What to expect at camp
We are honoured to be able to hear Pastor Ian expand on this theme through 4 messages, swiftly followed by small group discussions. These group discussions will allow folks across all age groups to get to know each other and learn from each other. Not to be outdone, we are blessed to have brothers and sisters from The Masters’ University guide our younger campers through an exciting syllabus that they are sure to enjoy. Look forward to favourites such as the Durian Fiesta, and where time permits, to be able to enjoy the numerous facilities available onsite to fellowship through fun.
Ways we can be praying
Do pray for the team as we continue to work through the details. We have had to rework a number of plans, to cater to the larger camp population, as well as new logistical challenges. Pray for wisdom, grace and sustenance. Also, do pray for the campers – for their health and safety, and that each and everyone will come prepared to spend those few precious days together, putting away the distractions of beyond.
To God be the glory.
We can all prepare for the camp by learning the songs that we will sing during the camp. We pray that as we meditate the lyrics, our hearts will be prepared to hear the word and to spend time with each other. The playlists are available on both Spotify and Youtube.
