Sermon Schedule — Pilgrim Songs

This is a short series in the Songs of Ascents in the Psalms. We will be studying Psalm 120-124 from May to June as well as in December.

Thanks to Christ, God’s people are bound for the Promised Land. But how shall we persevere in our pilgrimage through the wilderness of this world? The Songs of Ascents in the Psalms are a rich source of encouragement for the saints. Sung by worshipers on their way to the temple in Jerusalem, these psalms continue to strengthen pilgrims today as they journey towards the heavenly city. By turning our gaze heavenward, these psalms teach us how to lament, pray, praise, and rejoice with confidence in God. We are exhorted to long for the Lord, who is our only hope and salvation.

May these psalms remind us that our citizenship is in heaven, as we await our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
