More on Our Training Day (9 May 2026)

Many came together for our first Training Day on 31 January. It was designed for the church to gather on a Saturday morning for a time of learning together. We also had a special programme for the children to ensure that they too, had a chance to learn about God.

Our second Training Day will be held on 9 May 2026 from 9 am to 12.30pm. It will begin with an “Ask Anything” session by the elders. Bring your questions and come ready to ask them!

Following that, we will split up to join one of 5 tracks available that morning! They are

  • Church Matters
This is our membership class but it is not just for prospective members. This goes through what believe as a church, and what it means to be a church member. It aims to foster a biblical understanding of the church and church membership.

  • Evangelism in Practice (Tools for Everyday Conversations)

Maybe the last Evangelism Training convinced you that you should share the gospel — but you are still wondering how. This highly interactive workshop will get practical with two simple tools: Your personal testimony and 3 Circles. How do we move beyond merely telling our story to clearly telling God’s story? How can we visually explain how sin shattered God’s good design — and how Jesus restores us to Him? These tools are clear, adaptable, and helpful for conversations with people from all religious backgrounds. Check out the previous Evangelism Training session here if you missed it!

  • How to Read the Bible (Apocalyptic Literature)
As we read through the Bible, we may find books like Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah and Revelation hard to understand. Their language and images seem so foreign and fantastical to us. Yet, we also know these books were written to edify and encourage God's people through the ages. How, then, should we interpret the Bible's Apocalyptic writings?

  • When Saints Suffer
As Christians in this broken world, we inevitably experience various forms of suffering. How can we encourage ourselves and others in prolonged periods of darkness, confusion, anxiety, and even anger at God's silence? What truths can we speak to the suffering saint?

  • Discipling Youth
Discipling youth is an amazing, yet often confusing privilege. What should I do if they are not interested in the Bible? What if they do not want to come to church? Do I need to open a TikTok account? We hope to tackle these questions in this session, so whether you are a parent of a youth, or a church member interested in discipling the youth of GBC, we invite you to join us for this class!

Our children will also have their own track. The 4-12 year olds will continue their “God Always Wins” curriculum, and this time, they will learn how God wins over all gods. Childminding will be available for those below the age of 4.

Church, let us look forward to spending a morning learning together and getting to know others in the church. To help in the planning and organisation, do sign up by 3 May 2026.
