We had the joy of hosting a seminar with Matt Merker on Congregational Singing on 25 February 2023.

Joshua reflects on the ways we are all tempted to pursue joy apart from God, why that is futile, and how true joy is only found in Christ alone. 

Jim Tan, one of our members, wrote this article which was first published in Salt&Light. He shares reflections on Ecclesiastes 12 on how we can continue to remember our Creator when we face the struggle with dementia, and how caregivers can also encourage this memory. 

From 3–7 March, a team of 19 headed to Kathy's Home to conduct a Vacation Bible School. We thank God for the team and the fruitful trip.

Our English Congregation Leadership (ECL) have unanimously reaffirmed the calling of Jonathan Tan and Nehemiah Chong as elders.

One cool Thursday evening in February, a group from GBC and Redemption Hill Church (RHC) went around our neighbourhood for a prayer walk. It was the first walk that was organised for 2023 and it was encouraging that we could partner with RHC.

Obedience to God happens in both the big and small decisions in life and certainly, Christians are called to obey Him every day. So, what prompted our missionary, Esther, to consider becoming a missionary? She shares more about this journey here.

Pastor Eugene preached this sermon on Exodus 2:11-25 on 29 January 2023 where we were reminded that God is never late. He works in His time, not ours. The faithful God will keep His promise to redeem His people in His time. 

At the start of 2022, our pastors and elders shared 8 aspirations for our church, and strengthening our gospel partnerships with other churches is one of the aspirations. In 2022, we thank God for the many opportunities to partner other churches in this way.

We've just completed a short series in 1 Corinthians 12 to 14 on how we can build one another up in the body. Yanadi shares the role that Christian Education plays to build the church up, and how we can all participate in it.

Following our study in Genesis in 2022, we will embark on a study of Exodus in 2023. The book of Exodus shows us how God is faithful to His promises to the Patriarchs. In His faithfulness, He redeems a people from slavery in Egypt to be a kingdom of priests, that they would worship and glorify him among the nations.
