On 18 November 2023, our ladies gathered for "Women of Grace" event titled "Growing in the Gospel".

At our recent Women of Grace "Growing in the Gospel" event, books were made available for the women to read, and be encouraged to read with another person. These books were carefully selected and focused on the gospel, how we can apply the gospel as women and also some books on explaining the gospel to non-Christian friends. 

At the recent women's ministry "Growing in the Gospel" event, Megan, one of our members taught from 2 Peter 1:3-10 at a workshop. She encouraged the women to remember God's saving work and strive to live in a manner worthy of the calling they have received.

At the recent women's ministry "Growing in the Gospel" event, Melissa, one of our members who also recently completed her traineeship, gave a devotion from Titus 2. She walked the women through God's Word and encouraged all present to read and obey His Word. 

At the recent women's ministry "Growing in the Gospel" event, Joanna, one of our members, taught a workshop on how we can bring the gospel to those around us. Here's an edited transcript of what she shared with the ladies.

Clarice reflects on her first trip to Kathy's Home in Pua in Northern Thailand, where GBC conducts an English camp every quarter for the Hmong and Mien children staying at the home. 

We will end the year with our Advent series based on passages in Matthew. The series is titled "A Son is Given".

As we end the year, some of our ministries are planning for the next year and are looking for volunteers. If you are available and keen, we encourage you to contact the ministry, and see how you can build up the church in these practical ways!

On 20 and 21 October, we hosted two conferences with Mark Dever, pastor of Capital Hill Baptist Church and from 9Marks ministry. The first conference was targeted at leaders ("Building Healthy Churches"). The other, which was jointly organised with Adam Road Presbyterian Church (ARPC) was for church members ("The Local Church"). 

One of our members, Ryan, attended both conferences, and shares with us his experience and reflections here. 

How do you spend your public holidays? For many in GBC, the morning of 13 November 2023, a public holiday, was spent at our church picnic. 

Carrie, one of our ministry support workers for women's ministry, reflects on her time in ministry. She shares her heart and hope that women will continue to minister to one another with the word and also be equipped to handle the word.

What gets you through difficult circumstances? Samuel reflects on how Hebrews 11 can be applied in life, as we learn to hope in what is yet to come and eternal.

Two families participated in the Family Dedication at our 29 October 2023 service.

As 2023 draws to a close, we're also holding another picnic on 13 November 2023.

The Ministry Traineeship, formerly known as the Ministry Internship, runs from July to November this year. For this cycle, we have four trainees joining us -- Melissa Fam, Roy Lam and Joshua Shoo.

Deacon Bryan Tan led us in a exemplary prayer of confession in our worship service on 22 Oct. He modelled it on Jesus' teachings about the Beautitudes from Matthew 5:3-10.

Chng Eng Ching give thanks for how God has given her a bird's eye view of doing mission work through His lenses as she reflects on her first mission trip with GBC to Cambodia.

At our 8 October 2023 service, we installed our new elders Jeremy Lee and Beh Soo Hee.

Last Sunday, Elder Caleb exhorts us to consider the call from Hebrews to regard suffering and pain as part of God’s purposeful discipline in our lives. Here, Joshua Lowe draws on his recent discipline of his child to encourage us to be open and willing to receive discipline from God and our church community.

On 18 November 2023, our ladies will be looking to gather for a morning of learning together as they build relationships and get to know one another.
