In 2024, we will spend a significant portion of the year in the book of Isaiah. 

As a church, 2023 was an eventful year for us! As we reflect on the year together, we pray that you would praise God and give Him all the glory for Grace Baptist Church.

At the recent Watchnight service, Pastor Eugene shared these prayer priorities for our church in 2024.

In the final hours of 2023, we gathered as a church at our annual Watchnight Service. Though it was a Sunday evening and we also had our regular Sunday gathering that morning, many came back to spent time together on the last day of the year.

Our youths held their annual camp from 13-15 December. Timothy, one of our Young Adults, attended the camp not as a participant, but as one who was helping out. He shares about the camp as well as his experience here.  

At our 31 December 2023 service, we thanked God for the service of Elder Chong Tien, who has completed his 3-year term as an elder.

We held a pre-Christmas Brunch on 16 December 2023 for those in the nearby MacPherson neighbourhood. Before this Brunch, members of GBC also visited different blocks to invite the residents to join us. Steven and Krystal, who were involved in these efforts, share their reflections with us here.

Beginning January 2024, our Quarterly Congregational Meetings will be renamed Members' Meetings, as they will be held more regularly—once every two months, instead of once every quarter. The goal is to provide members with more regular updates about membership matters and church life.

We invite all to join us for our Watchnight Service on 31 December, from 8–10pm in the Sanctuary. This will take the place of our usual monthly Prayer Meeting after service.

This new short series, titled Ekklesia, will focus on the church as spoken of in the Gospel of Matthew.

Christmas is approaching! In this beautiful account, Cecilia shares her hope that by speaking of Jesus to her children throughout the year, even if it is in bits and pieces, they will be able to appreciate the true significance of Christmas and know who to turn to when the world fails them. 

Bible Study Leading Training (BSLT) is a training series that our Young Adults (YAs) had to equip them with skills to read the Bible and lead studies faithfully. Six sessions were held from mid-August to the end of October this year.

Eric Lui read Patrick J O’Banion's translation of Girolamo Zanchi's book, "The Spiritual Marriage Between Christ And His Church and Every One of the Faithful", and summarises for us Zanchi's treatise.

Dinnie shares her struggle with evangelism and how, despite that, God continues to use her as a tool to point her fellow workers-turned-friends to Christ.

Earlier in 2023, a team from GBC comprising some elders and members visited LifeLite Community in Tacloban City. In October, Bob, the pastor of the church, spent a month learning with us. We interview him here.
