Nicholas Chuan is a campus ministry worker, and he also had the chance to be on our Traineeship. He shares how this Traineeship experience has shaped and aided his work.

We have previously shared why we hold the Weekender, as well as some of what the participants learnt on the first day of the event. In this article, we will share some thanksgivings as we reflect on the weekend that was spent together. 

We have completed the first day of the Weekender! It was a packed day for the 90 participants — full of talks, discussions, and a chance to observe some of our meetings.

The Weekender is round the corner! From 11 to 14 September, a group of pastors, elders and ministry workers from Singapore and around the region will be at GBC. But what is a Weekender? And why are we holding it?

As a church, we desire to obey Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations. We are thankful for gospel partners overseas that align with our aims and have been partnering with First Baptist Bandung Church, who coordinates with SINERGI.

From 11–13 September, Singapore hosted the visit of Pope Francis. How should we think about it as Christians? Caleb prompts us to consider how our faith can be lived out practically.

We will host our very first Weekender on the 5-8 of September 2024. Joshua has been helping with the coordination and planning of this Weekender, and he shares ways that the church can participate in prayer and by offering practical help.

Earlier in 2023, a team from GBC comprising some elders and members visited LifeLite Community in Tacloban City. In October, Bob, the pastor of the church, spent a month learning with us. We interview him here.

Pastor Eugene announced at the 30 April 2023 service that Pastor Oliver would be sent temporarily to Acts Baptist Church to pastor for six months as part of GBC’s gospel partnership with a sister church. Pastor Oliver’s time at Acts Baptist Church will span from 1 July to 31 December 2023.

Elder Jonathan updated the church on our vision for missions at our recent QCM. He also shared about new partnerships with like-minded churches and organisations.

One of our aspirations as a church is to establish gospel partnerships with fellow like-minded Christians for the advance of the gospel. Our Missions Committee has also been exploring similar opportunities with churches and organizations overseas, and one such visit was to First Baptist Church of Bandung.

At the start of 2022, our pastors and elders shared 8 aspirations for our church, and strengthening our gospel partnerships with other churches is one of the aspirations. In 2022, we thank God for the many opportunities to partner other churches in this way.

One of our aspirations as a church is to establish gospel partnerships with other churches to fulfill Christ's commission. Pastor Oliver shares with us about this opportunity to partner with ACTS Baptist Church.
