Welcoming All in the Name of Jesus
The work of welcoming at GBC is not done by the Welcome Ministry alone but is a church-wide effort involving various teams as well as the congregation as a whole, i.e. you and me. We share what it looks like and how we can all play a part!
Christ Makes Us One
We have a group of Filipina domestic helpers who worship with us every Sunday and we give thanks for members such as Pat Chan who reaches out to them knowing that it can be daunting for them to connect with the wider church community. Here, we share more about the Filipina Fellowship that she has been serving with since 1986!
Our Role in Building the Church
As we study the book of Ephesians, we are challenged to actively participate in the building up of the church. But how? A useful resource in this endeavour could be compiled through our earlier sermons in the book of Haggai.
Reflections of a Ministry Worker
As announced, Joshua Lowe, who was our Ministry Worker, has transitioned out of his role here at GBC. He reflects on his time here over the past 5 years, and thanks God for the many ways God has also used the church to grow him.
Trained for Ministry
Mercia Tan joined our traineeship after graduating from university this past July. It has been a fruitful and encouraging time for her, and she shares some of her takeaways from the past few months.
Women’s Ministry Open House
The Women’s Ministry conducted their first ever Open House on 6 April 2025. Anna Yap, known to many of us as “Mimi”, who helped to prepare for it, shares this Open House.
Dear GBC…
As announced at our Members’ Meeting in March, Samuel, our ministry worker for Care Groups will be moving to join Mark and his family in their ministry. Samuel is taking this opportunity to share some of the things he is thankful to God for in our church, as well as ways that we can pray for him.
Help Wanted! (November-December 2023)
As we end the year, some of our ministries are planning for the next year and are looking for volunteers. If you are available and keen, we encourage you to contact the ministry, and see how you can build up the church in these practical ways!
Help Wanted! (September 2023)
At our recent Prayer Meetings, different members have been sharing about ministry opportunities as well as needs that have arisen.
Introducing Two New Initiatives
At our recent church camp, we held a workshop called "In Our Golden Years". The time spent at the workshop was far too short, and we do desire to continue doing spiritual good to one another even after Church Camp. Thus, we are introducing two new initiatives in the month of July:
Help Wanted! (June 2023)
At our recent church camp, we talked about how we could do spiritual good to one another. As members of one body, there are both formal and informal ways that we can work together to meet each others' needs.
Body Building: Welcome Ministry (Coffee and Tea)
Our recent "Body Building" series reminded us that we are members of one body and God has designed the church to be made up of members with different gifts under one Head, Jesus Christ. We have interviewed Rachael regarding the Welcome Ministry's Coffee and Tea team.
We Aspire to Every-Member Ministry
Pastor Eugene continues our series in the eight aspirations of the church, by encouraging us to love and serve one another for the growth of the whole body of Christ.
We Aspire to Disciple One Another in Christ
Pastor Thian Chye continues our series in the eight aspirations of the church, and here, he reflects on the importance of discipleship for all Christians, as well as how we can do so.
