In August and September, a group of ladies met weekly to read and discuss the book “How People Change” by Paul David Tripp. Sachie Hori was a part of this group, and she shares what the ladies did, what she learnt, what she found useful for her own growth and in relating to others.

We baptised and welcomed two new members at our 21 September service. Members of GBC had voted to receive them at the Members’ Meeting on 14 September.

We held our Members’ Meeting on 14 September 2025. At this meeting, we welcomed new members, heard of updates about our members and learnt about other updates in our church life.

We have previously shared why we hold the Weekender, as well as some of what the participants learnt on the first day of the event. In this article, we will share some thanksgivings as we reflect on the weekend that was spent together. 

The Women’s Ministry will be holding a Women of Grace event on 1 November. Titled “Side by side” this will focus on how women can walk with one another side by side, steadfast and faithful.

In this men's seminar, two pastors from Agape Baptist Church, Pastor Too Teh Hsin and Pastor Wong Guoliang, will shed light on the topic of sexual purity for men. Having ministered to many through their church's men's ministry, they bring a wealth of experience in practically journeying with men—young and old—toward sexual purity. 

Lois Yong shares how this book has been useful to apply the gospel to a particular lesson and situation that parents and children will encounter — the sin of lying. She shares how it does not just talk about the pitfalls of lying, but also models how the gospel can be applied to this situation and obeyed.

The Preacher in Ecclesiastes 12 had a word for those who were younger, that they ought to remember and respond to the Creator in the days of their youth. We also reached out to some older saints in our church to hear from them what they would like to tell younger men and women.

Three families participated in our Family Dedication held during our 31 August service.

We have completed the first day of the Weekender! It was a packed day for the 90 participants — full of talks, discussions, and a chance to observe some of our meetings.
