What are we living for? What ambitions and goals direct our lives? Whose plans and purposes do our lives revolve around? Faced with life’s challenges and comforts, it is easy for us to become spiritually complacent. How might our priorities be in need of a reset? 

May the Book of Haggai help us to rightly order our priorities for the new year!

Maureen Koh was one of the helpers at our recent youth camp. It was her first time serving, and also the first time at a youth camp. She shares her experience as a helper, what she learnt from serving and ways the church can continue to trust God to work among our youth.

Our next Members' Meeting will be held on 11 Jan 2026 after service from 11.15am to about 12.30pm on Level 2. Do note the change in venue for this meeting!

For a couple of years now, a group of GBC members have been reaching out to the residents and staff at Gladiolus Place through a monthly dinner. Moreen Tai has been helping out, and shares with us what they have been doing, and how God has been working in the hearts of our members, as well as ways we can support the ministry in prayer.

Over the past few months, we recruited members to help with block visits and organising this Christmas Brunch in December. Dinnie Ee shares with us the different ways that God answered our prayers!

We recently installed new elders and here, we interview both Andrew and Weiquan to get to know them better and how we can continue to be praying for them in their new role.

Ng Han Kiat from Leng Kwang Baptist Church took part in our Traineeship Programme from July to November this year. He gives thanks for the traineeship and reflects on how it has been a sanctifying process for him.

Mary Jin, a student at Singapore Bible College, came alongside us for the 20–24 November English Camp at Kathy’s Home. We hope that Mary’s reflection below will also spur you on to join us for our next trip to Pua taking place from 5–9 February 2026.

Mercia Tan joined our traineeship after graduating from university this past July. It has been a fruitful and encouraging time for her, and she shares some of her takeaways from the past few months.

On 1 November, the Women’s Ministry held their Women of Grace event. Usually held once to twice a year, the Women of Grace event aims to bring together women of GBC for a time of equipping and mutual encouragement. 

This year, the theme was “Side by Side” and we invited a guest speaker, Elizabeth Baruah, to speak to the ladies.

On 1 November, our ladies held their Women of Grace event. This focused on how women in the church can walk side by side to strengthen, counsel and encourage one another to persevere in the faith and remain steadfast in the Lord. Here is a list of books and resources that were recommended at this event.

We held our Members’ Meeting on 9 November 2025. At this meeting, we also held the English Congregational Meeting, where we voted on new elders. This was the last meeting of 2025 and as a church, we welcomed new members, heard of updates about some of our members and learnt about other updates in our church life in 2026.

Nicholas Chuan is a campus ministry worker, and he also had the chance to be on our Traineeship. He shares how this Traineeship experience has shaped and aided his work.

We recently held a Men’s Seminar and one of Liew Jun Tung shares some takeaways with us.

Our current batch of trainees have been with us since July, and they are nearing the end of their Traineeship. They will take turns to share their experiences over the next few weeks. This week, Eng Ching shares how the readings have shaped her convictions and understanding of ministry, and ways we can continue to encourage

In August and September, a group of ladies met weekly to read and discuss the book “How People Change” by Paul David Tripp. Sachie Hori was a part of this group, and she shares what the ladies did, what she learnt, what she found useful for her own growth and in relating to others.

John 15:5 calls us to abide in Christ the true vine, in order to bear fruit. Emily Seck encourages us with her artwork of the cucumber vine — a plant that grows best when it clings to a support.

Ethan Lam was a part of the young adults team that went on a missions trip to a city in Asia. He reflects on how preparing for this trip, and going on it has grown him in his personal evangelism and understanding of missions.
