Trained for Ministry
Mercia Tan joined our traineeship after graduating from university this past July. It has been a fruitful and encouraging time for her, and she shares some of her takeaways from the past few months.
Women of Grace 2025: Side by Side
On 1 November, the Women’s Ministry held their Women of Grace event. Usually held once to twice a year, the Women of Grace event aims to bring together women of GBC for a time of equipping and mutual encouragement.
This year, the theme was “Side by Side” and we invited a guest speaker, Elizabeth Baruah, to speak to the ladies.
Resources from Side by Side
On 1 November, our ladies held their Women of Grace event. This focused on how women in the church can walk side by side to strengthen, counsel and encourage one another to persevere in the faith and remain steadfast in the Lord. Here is a list of books and resources that were recommended at this event.
Recap of Members' Meeting (9 November 2025)
We held our Members’ Meeting on 9 November 2025. At this meeting, we also held the English Congregational Meeting, where we voted on new elders. This was the last meeting of 2025 and as a church, we welcomed new members, heard of updates about some of our members and learnt about other updates in our church life in 2026.

How People Change
In August and September, a group of ladies met weekly to read and discuss the book “How People Change” by Paul David Tripp. Sachie Hori was a part of this group, and she shares what the ladies did, what she learnt, what she found useful for her own growth and in relating to others.
Cucumber Vine and Abiding in Christ
John 15:5 calls us to abide in Christ the true vine, in order to bear fruit. Emily Seck encourages us with her artwork of the cucumber vine — a plant that grows best when it clings to a support.
Missions and Evangelism Is for All

We baptised and welcomed two new members at our 21 September service. Members of GBC had voted to receive them at the Members’ Meeting on 14 September.
