The Weekender is round the corner! From 11 to 14 September, a group of pastors, elders and ministry workers from Singapore and around the region will be at GBC. But what is a Weekender? And why are we holding it?

At our 17 August 2025 service, we acknowledged the service of Mok Chuan-Xin, who stepped off as our Director, and installed our new Director and Elder, Lam Lup Meng.

At our 13 July Members’ Meeting, the elders introduced 3 men who are joining the elders as Elder Associates. Over the next nine to ten months as Elder Associates, they will learn about what it means to shepherd and be an elder.

Pastor Oliver will be taking his sabbatical from July to December 2025.

At our 9 March 2025 service, we acknowledged the service of two of our elders, Mok Chuan-Xin and Caleb Yap after six years of service.

Over the past two weeks, we considered the motivation behind planting a church, as well as some of the alternatives to planting. But what does this mean for us now? What can members do at this point? 

Our elders have shared about our desire and plans to plant a church. It has been heartening to see that many members agree with these motivations and have been prayerfully considering this. Some have also wondered about alternatives to church planting and in this article, we seek to address some of these alternatives and options.

Elder Caleb has been serving as an elder for the past 5 years. Here, he shares with us what he does as an elder and how he has seen God at work in this church.

Our elders have been teaching and reminding us from Scripture that God intends for His people to live together in community as a church, and the way they organise themselves has also been revealed. At our 11 August 2024 service, we thanked God for the faithful service of one of our elders, and also welcomed new elders.

Our Elders held their annual retreat on 22 June! Our staff and lay Elders came together to spend a day praying for one another and the church.

At our 5 May 2024 service, we thanked the Lord for the ministry of Mark, Megan and their family among us and also prayed for them.

At our 31 December 2023 service, we thanked God for the service of Elder Chong Tien, who has completed his 3-year term as an elder.
